Getting Around Valencia with Your Dog

Valencia has a good public transport network — metro, tram, and bus — and the rules for travelling with dogs vary between them. The key distinction is between small dogs in carriers (generally permitted free of charge across all modes) and larger dogs, for whom the metro is largely off-limits but the bus offers more flexibility. Valencia's compact city centre is also highly walkable, and for most central destinations, walking with your dog is the simplest and most enjoyable option. Ruzafa, El Carmen, the Turia garden, and the seafront are all reachable on foot from each other, making a car largely unnecessary for the core dog-friendly itinerary.
