An almost intact Victorian port grid between the fishing harbour and Victoria Quay, thick with breweries and terraces. Leashed dogs are fine in the streets, on the Esplanade Reserve and on the quay; the covered Fremantle Markets admit assistance dogs only.

The only dog agility park in central Perth, on Plain Street in East Perth, fully fenced and off leash. Jump bars, weave poles, a pyramid ramp, a dog walk, benches, a water fountain and a bag dispenser.

The inlet that reconnected the city centre to the river, extended by a continuous foreshore path towards Point Fraser and Claisebrook Cove. Dogs welcome on a lead at all times and owners must clean up; no shade at all, so avoid it at midday in summer.

The quokka island, 19 km off Fremantle, is a Class A Reserve: domestic pets are banned from the island and its waters alike, with penalties and immediate removal at the owner's expense. Book a sitter for that day.
