Four hundred hectares of bushland, lawns and botanic garden on the escarpment above the Swan River, larger than Central Park and with the best view in Perth from Fraser Avenue. Half of it is retained bush laced with walking tracks, so a morning here is a proper walk rather than a stroll around a lawn.
Off-leash zone: Dogs are welcome on a lead of two metres or less and must stay on lead at all times. They are not allowed on the raised boardwalk section of the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, inside Rio Tinto Naturescape, in children's playgrounds or in the cafes, and they are excluded during events and on major public occasions. Bring your own waste bags, as the park does not supply them.
๐ก Park at the Fraser Avenue end early, walk the Law Walk along the escarpment for the river views, and turn back before eleven in summer: the exposed limestone paths hold heat and there is little shade on the lookout side.
