Getting Around Palamós with a Dog

Palamós has no train station; the closest rail is the Caldes de Malavella RENFE regional 25 km west on the C-65 and the Girona AVE high-speed station 40 km north-west. The Moventis (formerly Sarfa) bus runs the Girona-Palamós-Palafrugell-L'Estartit corridor multiple times a day in summer and four to six times a day in winter, with a clear small-pet-in-carrier policy, plus seasonal coastal cabotage. The Palamós port is also served by summer cala-hopping boats (Creuers Costa Brava, Dofí Jet) on the Palamós-Sant Feliu de Guíxols-Tossa de Mar route; pet policy varies by operator. Once in the village, the casc antic of Sant Joan de Palamós and the Passeig del Mar seafront are walkable; the four ports (Platja Gran, La Fosca, Platja del Castell, Cala Margarida) are connected by short coastal access roads and by the 6 km Camí de Ronda GR-92 clifftop path. The nearest airports are Girona-Costa Brava (GRO) 50 min north-west and Barcelona-El Prat (BCN) 1 h 45 south on the AP-7 motorway (110 km).
