Best Parks & Green Spaces in Palamós

The free open-air ruins of the medieval Castell de Sant Esteve de Mar crowning the clifftop between La Fosca and Platja del Castell, 3 km north of Palamós centre. A short stone-cut trail climbs through pine cover from the La Fosca car park to the ruins and the panoramic viewpoint over the cove and the Cap de Planes promontory. Leashed dogs welcome on the path and at the viewpoint year-round.

The 6 km Camí de Ronda GR-92 clifftop coastal path running north from the La Fosca cove of Palamós along the rocky cape to Calella de Palafrugell, threading the Cala S'Alguer fishermen-hut postcard cove, the Platja del Castell, the Cap de Planes promontory and Cala Estreta. One of the most scenic central Costa Brava sections, with constant turquoise-water views, pine shade and a stone-cut path between granite headlands.

The small Cap Gros lighthouse and its harbour breakwater walk at the south end of the Palamós port, opposite Cala Margarida cove. A 400 m promenade out along the harbour breakwater leads to the lighthouse base with a panoramic view over the Bay of Palamós, the fishing fleet at anchor and the Cap de Planes north. Leashed dogs welcome on the breakwater walk and at the exterior lighthouse viewpoint.
