Dog-Friendly Parks & Nature in Formentera

The northern peninsula of Formentera lies inside the protected Ses Salines d'Eivissa i Formentera nature park, shared with southern Ibiza. Flat dirt paths circle the Estany Pudent and Estany des Peix lagoons where pink flamingos overwinter, with juniper scrub and salt pans on either side. Leashed dogs are welcome on perimeter tracks year-round; do not approach flamingo viewing screens.

A historic dirt and stone path climbing from Es Caló de Sant Agustí up the cliff face to the La Mola plateau, used since Roman times. The 5 km ascent passes through pine groves and stone-walled fields with sweeping views of the north coast. Leashed dogs welcome the whole way; the gradient is gentle enough for older dogs and the path has shade pockets.

The wild southern peninsula of Formentera tapers to a lighthouse at the cliffs' edge, with juniper scrub, prehistoric Bronze Age dwelling ruins, and a single unpaved cami running the spine. Leashed dogs welcome the whole 7 km drive or walk to the lighthouse; the surrounding scrubland is open access on foot and offers the island's most dramatic clifftop sunset views without crowds.
