Dog-Friendly Beaches in Formentera

The longest beach on Formentera at 5 km, running along the south coast in a series of unbroken sand stretches with low dunes and pine pockets behind. Leashed dogs are tolerated from 1 October to 31 May along the central section near Es Arenals, and the dune path behind the beach is dog-walkable year-round. Avoid the official bathing zones marked with summer lifeguard posts.

The most postcard-perfect cove on the west coast of Formentera, a 150 m crescent of pale sand framed by sandstone cliffs with sweeping sunset views over Es Vedrà in the distance. Leashed dogs are tolerated from 1 October to 31 May; the clifftop coastal path immediately above the bay is dog-friendly year-round and offers the same view without needing the sand.

A working fishing cove on the east coast at the foot of the La Mola cliffs, with traditional wooden boat-houses (escars) lining the small pebble beach. Leashed dogs are tolerated outside the summer ban; the rocky shoreline north of the boat-houses is open to dogs year-round and offers calm protected swim spots in October-May for water-loving breeds.
