Sibiu

The largest and grandest square in Sibiu's Old Town, ringed by baroque and Renaissance townhouses and home to the Council Tower and the Roman Catholic Church. It is an open pedestrian space where leashed dogs are welcome, and several surrounding cafe terraces allow pets.

A smaller, intimate square connected to Piața Mare by the wrought-iron Bridge of Lies, Romania's first cast-iron bridge, built in 1859. Both the square and the bridge are open pedestrian areas where leashed dogs are welcome.

A 13th-century watchtower connecting Piața Mare and Piața Mică, with a viewing platform reached by narrow interior stairs and a lift. Dogs are welcome on the square around its base, but the climb to the top is better done without a dog.

An 18th-century Baroque palace on Piața Mare that now houses one of Romania's oldest art museums, built for Habsburg governor Samuel von Brukenthal. Dogs are welcome on the square outside, but are not permitted inside the museum galleries.

Europe's largest open-air museum, set in a wooded lakeside park just outside the city with reconstructed traditional buildings from across Romania. Per the museum's own visiting rules, dogs are allowed on the outdoor grounds on a short leash (muzzled if their breed is classified as dangerous), but not inside the indoor pavilion exhibits.

One of Sibiu's oldest and largest green spaces, popular with local dog owners for longer walks outside the historic core. It is not a fenced off-leash facility, so the citywide leash law applies.
