Traveling with a Dog in Sibiu

Sibiu's own international airport has dedicated pet facilities: a fenced outdoor relief area and an indoor play area with toys and obstacles for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and other small animals. It is a small, easy-to-navigate terminal, which makes traveling with a dog considerably less stressful than at larger hub airports.

Romania's national rail operator allows dogs in second class carriages if they wear a muzzle and stay on a leash on the floor of the compartment. The dog ticket costs half the price of a second-class adult fare for the same route. Small dogs or cats can be carried in arms for free if no other passenger objects, and Pit Bull, Boerboel and Bandog breeds are barred from trains entirely.

Sibiu's local bus operator Tursib runs the city's urban and metropolitan bus network. Dogs may not be transported without proof of vaccination, and a leash and muzzle are required at all times while on board. This applies across the full urban route network.
