Getting Around Sant Josep with a Pet

Four TIB lines criss-cross Sant Josep municipality. L24 runs Eivissa-Platja d'en Bossa-airport (every 15-30 min in summer, around €3.50 to the airport). L21 runs Eivissa-Sant Jordi-airport (€1.85). L25 connects Sant Antoni-Sant Josep-Eivissa across the inland (€1.85, every 30-60 min). L26 runs Sant Antoni-airport via Cala Bassa and the south coast (summer beach line). Small dogs in carriers travel free; large dogs are at the driver's discretion (muzzle and leash mandatory), and refusals are common in July-August on the airport lines.

Ibiza Airport (IBZ) is the only commercial airport on the island and physically sits inside Sant Josep de sa Talaia municipality, 2 km west of Platja d'en Bossa and 7 km east of Sant Josep village. Aena follows EU rules: small dogs and cats in IATA-compliant carriers in the cabin (typically under 8 kg total with carrier), larger pets in the heated hold. EU pets travel with the EU Pet Passport, UK pets with an Animal Health Certificate (post-Brexit). The arrivals taxi rank in summer turns over slowly; pet-friendly taxi pre-booking is recommended in July-August.

Aquabus runs seasonal coastal boats (May to October) along the south-east coast from Platja d'en Bossa to Eivissa Port, Talamanca and Es Canar, and along the south-west from Cala d'Hort to Cala Vadella and Cala Tarida for cove-hopping. Dogs travel on the open outdoor deck only, muzzled or in a carrier, with a small supplement. The most practical pet-friendly way to reach Eivissa Old Town from Platja d'en Bossa without a car or a TIB bus, and the only way to see the south-west cliffs from the sea without booking a private charter.
