Pet-Friendly Attractions in Sant Josep de sa Talaia

The clifftop mirador above Cala d'Hort offers the most direct land-based view of Es Vedrà, the 382 m vertical limestone monolith offshore, and its smaller sister Es Vedranell. Local lore claims Es Vedrà is the third most magnetic place on Earth and a UFO hotspot; in practice it is the most photographed island silhouette in the Mediterranean. Leashed dogs welcome on the mirador and the clifftop trail year-round. Sunset over the monolith from the mirador is the signature Sant Josep experience.

The 18th-century fortified parish church of Sant Josep, set on the cobbled plaza at the heart of the village, with thick whitewashed walls, a single nave and an arcaded porticoed entrance facing the plane-shaded square. The plaza accepts leashed dogs year-round and acts as the Saturday morning market hub for the village. The church interior is closed to dogs but visible through the open doors at service times.

Sa Pedrera, locally known as Atlantis, is an abandoned 16th-century limestone quarry on the south-west coast below Es Cubells. The blocks for Dalt Vila's walls and Eivissa cathedral were cut here. The descent is steep, sun-exposed and unmarked past the first kilometre; a 90 min round-trip on foot from the upper car park at Cap des Jueu. Leashed dogs welcome year-round but the route is fair-weather only and not advised in midsummer heat or with very young, old or unfit dogs.
