Dog-Friendly Beaches in Sant Josep

Mixed sand-and-pebble cove on the south-west coast, with the most direct view of the 382 m Es Vedrà monolith and the smaller Es Vedranell offshore. Restaurante El Carmen and Es Boldado anchor the dining scene. Officially closed to dogs 15 May-15 October per the Sant Josep ordenanza, but leashed dogs are tolerated outside that window when the cove is quiet. The clifftop trail south above the cove stays open to leashed dogs year-round and offers the best Es Vedrà sunset view that does not require a boat.

Sheltered fjord-like sandy cove on the south-west coast, framed by pine-covered slopes and small white villas. One of the calmest family beaches in the municipality and a regular off-season favourite with locals walking dogs along the back-beach promenade. Officially closed to dogs 15 May-15 October per the Sant Josep ordenanza; leashed dogs tolerated October to May. The flanking clifftop paths north toward Cala Carbó and south toward Cala Molí stay open to leashed dogs year-round.

Pebble-and-shingle cove on the south coast, home to the Blue Marlin Ibiza Beach Club and a string of more modest chiringuitos. Officially closed to dogs 15 May-15 October per the Sant Josep ordenanza; leashed dogs tolerated October to May. The longer Es Codolar pebble beach 4 km west, between Sa Caleta and Es Vedrà, is far quieter year-round and the only south-coast beach where leashed dogs are routinely walked off-season at sunrise. Always confirm the current Sant Josep ordenanza before bringing a dog onto the pebbles in shoulder months.
