Étretat's pebble beach, framed by the iconic chalk arch cliffs of the Amont and Aval, is one of the most photographed coastal settings in France. Dogs are banned from the main beach from June 15 to September 15 but are freely welcome outside those dates. The cliff path (chemin des douaniers) above the beach is open to dogs year-round and offers the famous views that inspired Monet, Maupassant and Courbet. The village itself is charming for dog-friendly walks.
💡 Go in April or May - fewer crowds, dogs freely on the beach, and the chalk cliffs glow in spring light.
