This 75-metre belfry, listed by UNESCO, towers over Place du Soldat Inconnu. Leashed dogs can wander the square and gardens; the interior cannot be visited with a pet.

Auguste Rodin's famous bronze, in front of the Hôtel de Ville, commemorates the 1347 sacrifice. The monument is viewed outdoors with a dog on the lead, a must-see of any visit.

This central park facing the Hôtel de Ville, with its lawns and First World War memorial, is the green lung of the centre. Leashed dogs are welcome, ideal for a stretch before a ferry.

These chalk cliffs of the Grand Site des Deux Caps offer panoramic trails over the Channel; on a clear day you can see England. Leashed dogs are allowed on the paths; keep away from the edge and nesting birds.
