STAR (Service des Transports de l'Agglomération Rennaise) runs the city's two driverless metro lines (line A north-east to south-west; line B opened in 2022 north-west to south-east) and a network of 134 bus lines. Small dogs in carriers travel free; larger dogs travel leashed and muzzled at the passenger fare. The metro is short-headway (every 1-2 min in peak), barrier-free and dog-tolerant in practice across the network.
