Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Hallstatt

A historic 16th-century Gasthof directly on the lake with a wooden terrace built out over the water, a few steps from the Marktplatz. The kitchen serves classic Salzkammergut fare — lake whitefish (Reinanke), Wiener Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn — and the terrace is one of the most photogenic dog spots in the Alps. Leashed dogs are warmly welcomed and the staff bring a water bowl on arrival.

Perched at 855 m above the lake at the top of the Salzberg funicular, the Rudolfsturm restaurant is built around a 13th-century watchtower and offers the most spectacular view of Hallstatt from any dining terrace. The kitchen serves regional Alpine dishes and the panoramic terrace welcomes leashed dogs — the funicular itself is dog-friendly with a free dog ticket. The Skywalk Welterbeblick viewpoint is two minutes away.
