Jopenkerk Haarlem
Centrum ยท Gedempte Voldersgracht 2, 2011 WD Haarlem
A working craft brewery and bistro set inside the former Jacobskerk, a 15th-century church converted in 2010 into Haarlem's most recognisable dining room with copper brewing tanks under the gothic vault. Dogs are welcome on the wide cobbled terrace facing the Raaks square and in the ground-floor brewery cafรฉ; the upstairs restaurant prefers leashed dogs under the table. The kitchen pairs Jopen beers with sharing plates, mussels in season, and a long Dutch cheese board.
๐ก Ask for an outside table on Raaks; the cobbled square is calmer than the Grote Markt and only 3 minutes' walk from the cathedral.
