Castillo de Dénia
Carrer Sant Francesc s/n, Dénia
Dominating the centre from a 60 m hill, the Castillo de Dénia is an 11th-century Moorish fortress refortified by the Spanish crown in the 16th and 17th centuries. Leashed dogs are welcome on the outer ramparts, the Baluard del Migdia bastion and the panoramic outdoor paths overlooking the port and the Mediterranean. Access via the Portal de la Vila gate in the casco antiguo. Indoor museum spaces (Palau del Governador) are not pet-accessible, but the outdoor circuit alone is the headline visit.
💡 Climb up via the Portal de la Vila at sunset, when the warm light hits the limestone of the bastions and the views over the port toward Ibiza are at their best. Allow 90 minutes including the descent through Les Roques
