Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Delft, Markt & Beestenmarkt Terraces

A canal-boat-and-quay café on the Oude Delft canal directly opposite the Oude Kerk's leaning tower (where Vermeer is buried). Repeatedly voted best pancake house in the Netherlands; the floating terrace on the canal boat is the prime dog-friendly spot, with water bowls on arrival and shaded canopy. Dogs are welcome on the quay tables and inside the wood-panelled koffyhuis. Open all day for Dutch pancakes, broodjes, and a long Belgian beer list.

The single most popular café terrace in Delft, on the leafy Beestenmarkt square under the plane trees, two minutes' walk from the Markt. Famous nationally for its homemade apple pie, served warm with whipped cream. Dogs are welcome on the huge outdoor terrace (one of the largest in town) and inside the wooden interior; water bowls and even dog biscuits at the bar. Always packed on sunny afternoons, plan an off-peak arrival.

The 17th-century city weigh house on the Markt, beautifully restored and now a brasserie-restaurant facing the Stadhuis Renaissance city hall, with the Nieuwe Kerk towering on the opposite end of the square. Dogs are welcome on the front terrace right on the Markt cobbles (with prime cathedral and city-hall views) and on the rear terrace overlooking the Wijnhaven canal. Kitchen runs all day; Dutch classics modernised.
