Delft is the small canal city of 105,000 between Rotterdam and The Hague where the cobbled Markt under the Nieuwe Kerk (William of Orange's tomb since 1584, mausoleum of the Dutch Royal House, 109 m tower), the Renaissance Stadhuis city hall, Vermeer's burial Oude Kerk with its leaning tower, the 1100-dug Oude Delft canal (the oldest in the Netherlands), the Prinsenhof Museum (William of Orange's assassination site 1584), the 1400 Oostpoort city gate and the Royal Delft porcelain manufactory (Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles, founded 1653) all sit inside the singel canals 12 minutes by NS train from both The Hague Central and Rotterdam Central. Top spots for pets include the Markt under the Nieuwe Kerk's 109 m tower, the Royal Delft porcelain courtyard and shop on Rotterdamseweg, and the year-round Kijkduin / Scheveningen hondenstrand zones reached in 45–55 minutes by HTM Tram 1, especially around the Centrum inside the singels around the Markt and the Oude Delft canal, the TU Delft green campus south of town, and the Delftse Hout recreation park east of the centre.
