Getting Around Bourton-on-the-Water with a Dog

Bourton is small and best explored on foot, with the village and its riverside walks all easily reached from the centre. There is no railway station in the village itself; the nearest stations are Moreton-in-Marsh and Kingham on the Cotswold Line, both a short taxi or bus ride away, and dogs travel free on National Rail (up to two per passenger, on a lead). Local buses connect Bourton with Moreton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Cheltenham. For overseas visitors, Birmingham Airport is the most useful gateway, about an hour by car, with Bristol a similar distance to the south.
