Cadiz

Cadiz's main green space, a 29,000 sq m botanical garden above the Atlantic ramparts with over 100 tree species. Leashed dogs are welcome along the shaded avenues and around the ornamental lake.

The city's dedicated dog beach at the far end of Playa de Cortadura, a 465 m stretch with a 340 m leashed zone and a fenced 125 m off-leash section, open to dogs roughly March to October. The only legal beach for a dog on the sand during the summer bathing season.

A star-shaped 16th-century fortress on La Caleta beach, with free entry and open-air ramparts and courtyards. Its outdoor layout makes it an easy, atmospheric stop with a leashed dog.

The city's highest 18th-century watchtower with a camera obscura over Cadiz and the bay, and a notably dog-friendly team. Note the narrow access stairs with glass steps, which can unsettle some dogs.

The postcard cove between two castles in the heart of the old town, framed by the Balneario spa building. Out of bathing season leashed dogs can join you on the sand; in summer enjoy the promenade instead.
