Getting Around Zadar with a Dog

Zadar Airport (ZAD) is a small but well-connected airport with seasonal Ryanair, Eurowings, Croatia Airlines and easyJet services to the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands. EU pet rules apply (microchip + EU pet passport + rabies vaccination). The airport has a basic outdoor pet relief area in front of the terminal and a direct shuttle bus to the city (€5, ~25 min).

Because Liburnija city buses do not accept non-guide dogs, the practical pet transport options in Zadar are walking (the Old Town is 1 km across), regular taxis (Cammeo, Eko Taxi — call ahead, most accept dogs on a blanket for a small extra fee) and rental cars. Uber is not available in Zadar; Bolt operates with limited coverage. The Old Town's pedestrian core has no vehicle access except for service.

Zadar's main ferry port at Gaženica is the gateway to the Kornati national park and the islands of Ugljan, Pašman and Iž. Jadrolinija passenger and car ferries accept leashed dogs at no extra charge on deck (small dogs in carriers may go inside). The port has parking, a small café, and an outdoor area where dogs can stretch before boarding.
