Sea Organ (Morske orgulje)
Western tip of Old Town ยท Istarska obala, 23000 Zadar
An architectural sound art installation by Nikola Baลกiฤ (2005): 70 m of broad stone steps descending into the Adriatic, with 35 polyethylene pipes hidden underneath that resonate as waves push air through them. The result is an ever-changing, never-repeating organ chord powered by the sea. Fully open-air and dog-friendly; the broad steps are ideal seating for dogs of any size.
๐ก Calmest 1 hour after sunrise โ the organ plays differently in light morning swells than in afternoon chop, and dogs nervous of crowds get the place near-empty.
