Dog-Friendly Beaches in Zadar

A pebbled and rocky bay roughly 200 m long in the Borik resort area, framed by pine trees and the most accessible swimming spot from central Zadar. Sections of Borik are tolerated for dogs (look for the painted 'plaža za pse' rocks on the southern end). Shaded by the pines, with shallow entry suited to dogs new to swimming.

At the end of Punta Bajlo, an islet known as Sv. Klement was officially designated a dog beach with signage and bins in 2021, but the equipment was vandalised and the city quietly withdrew formal support. Dogs are still tolerated on the rocky islet today, separated from the renovated main Punta Bajlo beach. No facilities, bring water.

An officially designated dog beach (plaža za pse) over 100 m long near the Virski most (Vir bridge), 10 km north-east of Zadar. Properly fenced, with parking on the access road and an unobstructed gravel-and-pebble entry to the shallow sea. The best fully-equipped dog beach in the immediate Zadar area for a serious summer swim.
