Getting Around Warnemünde with a Dog

Warnemünde is easy to reach and to explore with a dog. The S-Bahn links Rostock Hauptbahnhof to Warnemünde in about 20 minutes, running through the north-western suburbs, and RSAG trams and buses cover the wider city on the VVW fare. Dogs travel on a lead; a small dog in a carrier usually counts as hand luggage, while a larger dog may need a reduced ticket, so check the current VVW fare at the machine or counter. In town most things are walkable along the Alter Strom and promenade, and the little passenger ferry hops your dog across the Warnow to Hohe Düne and the Rostocker Heide.
