Dog Beaches in Warnemünde

The main daytime dog beach, on the marked sections around beach accesses 29 to 34 in the Diedrichshagen district just west of Warnemünde, where the sand gives way to the wooded Stoltera cliff. It is the one stretch where dogs can enjoy the Baltic in daylight through the summer, quieter than the busy town beach.

The famous wide town beach running east from the Westmole lighthouse pier, one of the broadest on the Baltic coast. Dogs stay on the lead year-round here; in high summer they are allowed only on the central dog section (around accesses 8 to 10) and only between 21:00 and 09:00, so an early-morning or evening beach walk is the way to share it in season.

Across the Warnow from the Alter Strom, reached by the little passenger ferry, the east bank opens onto the long, quiet beach at Hohe Düne and Markgrafenheide, backed by the Rostocker Heide forest. The same Rostock seasonal dog rules apply as in Warnemünde, so check the signposted dog sections, but the extra space and calm make it a good escape from the town crowds.
