Dog-Friendly Beaches near Thessaloniki

Peraia is the most accessible dog-friendly beach from Thessaloniki — a long stretch of sand on the Thermaic Gulf in the municipality of Thermaikos, about 25 km south of the city. The unorganised sections of Peraia beach allow dogs freely. Cafés and tavernas line the seafront and most welcome dogs on their outdoor terraces. It is a family beach, popular with Thessaloniki residents on weekends.

Agia Triada is a small resort town south of Thessaloniki with several unorganised beach sections that freely permit dogs. The village has a proper esplanade, fish tavernas on the waterfront, and a relaxed atmosphere well suited to visiting with a dog. The beach is sandy and the water of the Thermaic Gulf is shallow and calm — good for dogs that like to swim.

The Nea Paralia is not a beach — it is a landscaped promenade — but it is the best dog-friendly coastal walk in Thessaloniki itself. Dogs on a leash can walk the full 3.5 km seafront stretch with sea views, fountains, and the silhouette of the White Tower as backdrop. On warm evenings it is the most social public space in the city, and dogs are a normal and welcome part of the scene.
