Dog Parks & Walks in Split

Marjan Hill is Split's green crown — a protected forest reserve on a peninsula west of the city, covering 300 hectares of Aleppo pine, Mediterranean scrub, and rocky viewpoints over the Adriatic. Dogs are welcome on-leash throughout the marked trails, with more relaxed rules in the deeper forest areas away from the viewpoints. Multiple trails range from easy coastal paths to steeper forest climbs. The shade is excellent even in summer. Several viewpoints (Telegrin, Vidilica) offer panoramic views of the islands. One of the finest urban forest walks in the Adriatic region.

At the far western tip of Marjan Hill, Bene is a small coastal park with a pebble beach, pine forest, and sports facilities. The rocky coves adjacent to the Bene beach are excellent for dog swimming outside the June–September bathing season. The park is a local favourite for families and dog owners. A small snack bar operates in season. Accessible by cycling along the coastal path or a 30-minute walk from the Old Town.

The coastal promenade running west from the Riva along the Meje neighbourhood to Marjan Hill is one of the most pleasant flat walks in Split. The path hugs the Adriatic shoreline with sea views throughout and several small rocky beaches along the way. Dogs on-leash are welcome throughout. Multiple café terraces along the route accept dogs. The walk from the Riva to Marjan Bene is approximately 3 km each way — plan 1.5 hours for a relaxed walk.
