Dog-Friendly Beaches on Santorini, Red Beach Akrotiri, Black Beach Perissa, White Beach & Vlychada

The 7 km black volcanic sand strip on the south-east coast under the looming Mesa Vouno cliff, divided into Perissa (north end), Perivolos (middle) and Vlychada (south). The longest beach on Santorini, flat shallow entry, full beach club row in the centre, wild quiet ends. The main dog-tolerant beach in season.

Dramatic cove under towering iron-oxide red cliffs near the Akrotiri archaeological site on the southern tip. 150 m of red pebble and dark sand, turquoise water, accessed by a 5 min cliff scramble. Iconic photo spot but tiny and shadeless. Best at dawn or as an aperitivo swim.

Pale pumice and pebble cove between Red Beach and Mesa Pigadia, framed by white-grey pumice cliffs, reached only by small boat-taxi from Akrotiri pier (5 min) or a long scramble. Quiet, crystal water, ~100 m. The closest thing to a private dog cove on the island.

The southern end of the long black-sand strip below the surreal wind-eroded volcanic ash bluffs (the 'Moonscape'). Dark sand, blue water, a small marina with the To Psaraki fish taverna, and the calmest, most dog-welcoming beach on Santorini. The local choice over Perissa for a quiet swim.
