Villa Borghese
Rome's most famous park, covering 80 hectares in the heart of the city, is a genuinely wonderful place for a dog walk. The broad alleys, grassy slopes, and wooded paths offer excellent variety. Dogs must be on-leash throughout the gardens proper, but there is a designated dog area near the Viale delle Magnolie entrance where off-leash play is permitted. The park also has excellent water fountains (nasoni) throughout โ a Rome institution that dogs love.
Off-leash zone: Designated dog area near Viale delle Magnolie entrance. On-leash elsewhere.
๐ก Enter from Piazzale Flaminio for the most dog-friendly route. The nasoni fountains are everywhere โ your dog will stay hydrated.
