Tartini Square (Tartinijev trg)
Heart of the old town · Tartinijev trg, 6330 Piran
Tartini Square is the elliptical marble central square of Piran, paved over the silted-up medieval inner harbour in 1894 and dominated by the bronze statue of Giuseppe Tartini, the baroque violinist and composer born in Piran in 1692. The Venetian-era town hall, the loggia, the Tartini birth house, and the parish church bell tower frame the square. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout this open public space, and the surrounding café terraces almost all accept dogs at outdoor seating.
