Bibione

A large fenced dog beach in the western sector of Bibione, regarded as one of the biggest and best equipped in Italy, with dog showers, water bowls, shaded areas and an agility course. Dogs can swim freely in a reserved stretch of sea, and access is ticketed like the other equipped lidos.

The lighthouse marking the mouth of the Tagliamento at the eastern tip of the resort, ringed by a wild beach and a preserved pinewood that offers walking away from the crowds. Leashed dogs are welcome on the coastal paths and on this quieter stretch of shore.

The western district of the resort, more residential and wooded, where villas blend into a pine forest that runs down to the sea. Its shaded lanes and calm atmosphere make it the most pleasant area to walk a dog during the hottest hours.

The thermal spa fed by hot sulphur waters drawn from deep underground, devoted to cures, treatments and wellness. Pets are not allowed inside the spa areas and pools, though the surrounding gardens are fine for a short leashed walk.

The great main beach, nearly eight kilometres of gently shelving golden sand lined with rows of umbrellas, the heart of family seaside tourism. Dogs are not allowed on the equipped lidos in high season, so head instead to Pluto Beach, the dedicated dog beach.

The long pedestrian avenue running through the resort, lined with shops, gelaterias, terraces and pizzerias, buzzing on summer evenings. Leashed dogs are welcome all along it, and many terraces will readily put out a water bowl for four-legged guests.
