Beaches in Oropesa del Mar for Dogs

The main beach of Oropesa del Mar is a wide, gently sloping sandy beach with calm Mediterranean waters. Dogs are allowed from September 16 to June 14 and during those months it is a joy — the beach is nearly empty, the water warm enough to swim until late October, and locals bring their dogs without a second thought. In peak summer, use the rocky coves to the north instead.

A small rocky cove at the southern edge of the town where the built-up seafront gives way to the beginning of the Serra d'Irta natural park. Dogs are welcome here year-round as it is not an official bathing beach. The water is crystal clear over rocks and pebbles, and the cove is quiet even in August. Accessible on foot from the southern end of the promenade.

The northern stretch of beach in front of the Marina d'Or resort complex. Same dog restrictions as the main beach (Jun 15–Sep 15 ban), but outside the summer season it is quieter and often empty. The beach here is wide and flat with fine sand. The promenade along this section has multiple exit points to the beach.
