Konoba Menego
Stone lanes climbing from Saint Stephen`s Square toward Fortica · Groda bb, 21450 Hvar
A family-run stone-walled konoba on the historic Groda lane that climbs from Saint Stephen`s Square toward the Fortica Španjola fortress, run by the Kovačević family since the 1990s with a strict no-frozen-food policy and a focus on traditional Dalmatian island cooking. A handful of outdoor terrace tables on the cobbled lane welcome leashed dogs; the small interior is best skipped on a hot evening. Dalmatian prosciutto, sheep`s cheese from Brač, marinated anchovies and Hvar wines by the carafe.
💡 Reserve a lower-lane table (not the top ones higher up Groda) - the lower seats are flatter for the dog`s mat and the candlelight is on the wall side, away from the dog`s eyes, where the upper terraces tilt and the cobbles step every two metres.
