Pet-Friendly Restaurants in Ciutadella de Menorca

Smoix is the most ambitious modern kitchen in Ciutadella's old town, run by chef Miquel Sánchez in a converted town palace two minutes from the Plaça d'es Born. The cooking is rooted in Menorcan products with a contemporary touch: PDO cheese tasting flights, local fish, vegetables from the chef's own garden in the interior of the island. The interior courtyard terrace is shaded by a single huge tree and well-behaved dogs are welcome on the terrace tables.

Café Balear is the long-established harbourside fish restaurant on the Pla de Sant Joan, the inner quay of Ciutadella's deep natural port. Its terrace runs the length of the waterfront facing the fishing boats and the honey-coloured cliffs of the old town on the opposite shore. Dogs are welcome on the terrace and the staff routinely bring a water bowl. The cooking is classic Menorcan fish house: caldereta de langosta in season, grilled fish from the morning auction, and a serious arroz caldoso.

Es Tast de na Silvia is a small slow-food restaurant in the upper old town near the cathedral, run by chef Silvia Anglada and known across the Balearics for its strict use of organic Menorcan producers and zero-waste kitchen practice. The menu is short, seasonal, and built around the day's market. Dogs are welcome on the small street-side terrace and the staff are visibly fond of regulars' pets. Vegetarian and vegan options are unusually well developed for the island.
