Cala Macarella & Cala Macarelleta (off-season)
South-west coast · Cala Macarella, 16 km south of Ciutadella
Cala Macarella and its smaller twin Cala Macarelleta are the two most photographed coves on Menorca, twin turquoise inlets framed by Aleppo pines on the south-west coast. From November to March the Ajuntament of Ciutadella allows leashed dogs on the beach itself, and during the bathing season the Camí de Cavalls behind the dunes stays open year-round to dogs on a leash. The off-season morning walk from Macarella to Macarelleta over the headland is one of the most spectacular pet-friendly beach walks in the western Mediterranean.
💡 Park at Cala Galdana in summer (E1 shuttle from Ciutadella) and walk the Camí de Cavalls 4 km west to reach Macarella with a dog on a leash legally year-round. In winter park at the dedicated lot above Macarella, the access road is open and empty
