Best Dog Parks in Bucharest

Bucharest's largest park, 187 hectares around the central Herastrau Lake, with two fully fenced municipal dog parks (the larger near the Aviator entrance, a medium-sized one near the Mioriță fountain). Beyond the enclosures, the park's footpaths are leash-friendly and the lakeside loop is a favourite local dog walk.

The oldest public garden in Bucharest, opened in 1854 and stretching across 17 hectares in the dead centre of the city. A small lake, mature plane trees, and curving gravel paths make it the everyday dog-walk park for residents of the Old Town. Leash-friendly throughout; off-leash is not officially permitted but tolerated on the inner lawns when quiet.

An 86-hectare park around the Tineretului Lake, less crowded than Herastrau or Cismigiu. The wide open lawns are popular with dog owners for ball-throwing; a fenced municipal dog park sits on the eastern edge. Metro M2 stops at Tineretului station, two minutes from the park gate.
