Pet-Friendly Transport in Brașov

Brașov's municipal bus and trolleybus network. Small dogs in a closed carrier travel free; larger dogs are admitted at the driver's discretion with muzzle and lead, free of charge. Drivers are generally tolerant of well-behaved dogs outside school rush hour (07:00–08:00 and 14:00–15:00).

The cable car that climbs from the edge of the old town to the Tâmpa summit (960 m) in three minutes. Small dogs in a carrier travel free; larger dogs are admitted muzzled and on lead, free of charge, subject to space. Operates Wed–Mon (closed Tue); last ascent 17:00. Tickets RON 22 return (€4.50).

Brașov is on Romania's main north-south rail axis with 30+ daily trains to Bucharest (2.5 h on the scenic InterRegio through the Prahova Valley). Dogs under 30 kg in a carrier travel free; dogs over 30 kg or on lead need a 30% supplement ticket (RON 20–30, €4–6) and must wear a muzzle. Maximum two dogs per passenger.
