Dog-Friendly Attractions in Brașov

Brașov's pastel-painted central square, ringed by Saxon merchant houses, baroque facades and the 1420 Council House (now the History Museum). Dogs on lead are welcome throughout the square and on the surrounding streets including Strada Sforii (one of the narrowest streets in Europe, 1.3 m wide) and the historic Strada Republicii pedestrian shopping spine.

The Gothic Lutheran church that gives Brașov its symbol, built 1383–1477 and blackened by the great fire of 1689. The exterior, the surrounding cobbled square and the Honterus courtyard (with the statue of the Saxon reformer) are dog-friendly on lead. The church interior, with its 16th-century Ottoman carpet collection and Buchholz organ, does not admit pets.

The 14th-century clifftop fortress 30 km from Brașov, marketed worldwide as 'Dracula's Castle' for its loose association with Bram Stoker's novel. The 22-hectare park, courtyards and outdoor terraces are dog-friendly on lead; the castle museum interior (Queen Marie's apartments, the torture chamber) does not admit pets.
