Pet-Friendly Attractions & Sights in Ajaccio

Napoléon Bonaparte's birthplace, a 17th-century townhouse in the heart of the old town, now a national museum. The interior is not dog-accessible, but the building's facade and the small Place Letizia in front are key photo spots and are dog-friendly year-round.

The 16th-century Genoese citadel guarding the southern end of the marina, transferred from military to civilian use in 2019. Most of the perimeter walk along Boulevard Danièle Casanova is publicly accessible, with sea views and Place de Gaulle promenades. Interior visits are guided-only and exclude dogs, but the ramparts walk is the most scenic free dog walk in the city centre.

The classic 2h30 boat excursion from Ajaccio marina around the four Sanguinaires islands at the western entrance of the Gulf, with an optional landing on Mezu Mare (the largest island, weather and Réserve Naturelle dependent). Nave Va and Découvertes Naturelles are the two principal operators, both accept leashed dogs on the open upper decks.
