Headland above Platja Gran · Carrer del Portal, 17320 Tossa de Mar
The 12th-century walled medieval town that crowns the Cap de Tossa headland, with four 12th-13th-century watchtowers (Torre d`en Joanàs, Torre de les Hores, Torre de la Mare de Déu, Torre del Codolar), full battlemented ramparts and the Gothic ruins of the Sant Vicenç castle church inside. Declared a Spanish National Cultural Heritage site (Bé Cultural d`Interès Nacional) in 1931, this is the only fortified medieval centre that survives on the entire Catalan coast.
💡 Climb via the Carrer del Portal at golden hour and approach the Torre del Codolar from the south staircase; the descent ends on Plaça d`Espanya for an easy aperitif
