The world's first transporter bridge, designed by Alberto de Palacio and inaugurated in 1893, listed UNESCO in 2006 as the only Spanish entry in the Industrial Heritage category. Officially dog-friendly since December 2017, dogs up to 40 kg admitted in the gondola's lateral passenger compartment.

A medieval fishing port descending in stepped stone plazas to the sea, with white houses, fishermen's cottages and stairs that double as improvised tables on pintxo evenings. Fully pedestrianised and open to leashed dogs 24h.

Flat 6 km coastal trail from the 18th-century Aixerrota windmill to the beaches of Azkorri and Sopelana, in concrete and compacted gravel with frequent benches and water fountains. Leashed dogs welcome year-round, panoramic Cantabrian Sea views.

Getxo's flagship urban beach, 800 m of fine sand below the Puerto Viejo de Algorta, framed by the Punta Galea cliffs. Dogs banned for general recreation from 1 May to 30 September; access only between 20:00 and 09:30 with leash during bathing season, the rest of the year leashed dogs welcome most hours.

An 18th-century stone windmill on the Galea clifftop, restored as a restaurant and the starting point of the cliff trail. Parking is free, the restaurant terrace welcomes dogs and the Cantabrian Sea view is spectacular.

A tree-lined promenade through the Neguri district, the historic summer-residential quarter of Bilbao's industrial bourgeoisie, lined with Romantic and Modernist villas. Public sidewalks open to leashed dogs, calm Sunday-morning atmosphere.
