The grass-and-pebble bank of the Elbe through central Dresden offers calm, slow water access for dogs along almost the entire central stretch. Stay out of the marked bathing area at Pieschen if you are in the city's official swim zone, there dogs are not permitted. Best dog access points are below the Carolabrücke and at the Brockhausstraße bend.
💡 Mid-summer the river warms by mid-morning; carry a slip lead so you can recall the dog quickly when paddle-steamers come past.
