Dog-Friendly Parks and Walks in Valldemossa

The GR-221 is Mallorca's grand traverse, a 167 km dry-stone trail that crosses the Serra de Tramuntana end to end and passes through Valldemossa between the Esporles stage to the south and the Deià stage to the north. The most accessible half-day from the village is the climb west along the ancient Camí de s'Arxiduc toward the Pla des Pouet plateau (3h return, 500 m gain), traversing dry-stone terraces with sweeping views back over the village and the Cartuja. Dogs must stay leashed throughout, the area is grazed by sheep year-round.

The Mirador des Pi des Català sits on the small road that climbs from Valldemossa toward the Pla des Pouet, a roadside terrace with a single Aleppo pine framing the postcard view of the village rooftops, the Cartuja bell tower, and the Tramuntana valley falling away to the south. The viewpoint is open, dog-friendly, and rarely crowded since it sits off the main Ma-10 route. A 15-minute leashed walk from the upper edge of the village along the old paved lane reaches it on foot.

The Camí de Sa Foradada drops from the Son Marroig estate on the Ma-10 (10 km north of Valldemossa, on the road toward Deià) down a stone-paved track to the pierced rock peninsula at sea level that gives the spot its name (Sa Foradada means 'the pierced one' in Catalan). The walk is 45 minutes down, 1 hour back up, with sweeping coast views the whole way. Leashed dogs are welcome end to end. The descent is steep with loose stones, only attempt with a sure-footed dog and not in midday summer heat.
