Dog-Friendly Beaches near Valldemossa

Cala Valldemossa is the village's own natural pebble cove, reached down a famously twisty single-lane road that drops 400 m in 7 km from the casc antic to sea level. The cove is small, pebbled, framed by stone cliffs and the handful of low fishermen's houses of the Port de Valldemossa. Dogs are prohibited during the bathing season per the Ajuntament ordinance, but in winter the cove is empty, the Tramuntana light is extraordinary and leashed dogs are welcome on the pebbles. Verify the current ordinance with the Ajuntament before going.

The Port de Valldemossa is a tiny natural fishing port at the foot of the cliff road, a stone slipway, a row of nine fishermen's huts (escars), and a single seaside restaurant that runs in summer. The short pebble promenade behind the slipway is dog-friendly year-round, leashed, and is the practical way to enjoy the cove during the summer ban when dogs are off the beach itself. Sea views over the Tramuntana cliffs to the west are dramatic.

Cala Deià is the small pebble cove of Deià village, 12 km north of Valldemossa on the Ma-10, framed by Tramuntana cliffs and famous for its two beach-shack restaurants (Ca's Patró March and Can Lluc). Dogs are prohibited during the bathing season under the Deià municipal ordinance, but off-season the cove sees few visitors and leashed dogs are tolerated in practice. The 10-minute walk down from the village car park is steep and stony, and the pebble beach is fine for dogs comfortable on uneven ground.
