Dog-Friendly Sights in Usedom's Kaiserbäder

The landmark of the Kaiserbäder and the oldest surviving pier in Germany, built in 1898, with its distinctive green-towered pavilion reaching out over the Baltic. Walking its open deck with a dog is one of the signature Usedom experiences, framed by the villa skyline behind.

At 508 metres this is the longest pier in Germany, a broad deck of shops and cafés reaching far out into the Baltic from the heart of Heringsdorf. The open walkway is a fine leashed stroll with sea on both sides, bookending a promenade walk from Ahlbeck or Bansin.

The tree-lined seafront promenade links Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin in an almost unbroken walk past white Bäderarchitektur villas, one of the longest beach promenades on the German coast. It is the island's great leashed-dog walk, flat and shaded, with cafés, piers and beach access the whole way.
