Pet-Friendly Attractions in Sant Antoni de Portmany

The 1 km western seafront strip immortalised by the Cafe del Mar mixtape series since 1980, the Mambo, Savannah and a string of other clifftop bars that play live DJ sets timed to the sunset. Outdoor terraces accept leashed dogs at the host's discretion (typically yes before 19:00, harder after dark). Cafe del Mar opened in 1980 and reopens each spring; the strip is most pleasant in May or October when the crowd is half the size.

The 14th-century fortified parish church of Sant Antoni, considered the oldest church on Ibiza, with thick whitewashed walls, a single nave and a defensive square tower. The cobbled square in front of the church accepts leashed dogs year-round, and the surrounding old-town streets offer a calm contrast to the seafront. The church interior is closed to dogs but visible through the open doors during day services.

A 1992 white concrete egg sculpture on the seafront roundabout at the entrance to town, commemorating a local legend that Christopher Columbus was born on Ibiza (one of several Mediterranean Columbus claims). A small caravel-and-globe model sits inside the cracked egg. Leashed dogs welcome on the wide roundabout pavement year-round; the most photographed Sant Antoni landmark after the Sunset Strip.
