Be realistic about Sanremo's beaches: most of the seafront is paid stabilimenti (private lidos) that restrict or ban dogs in the summer season, so you cannot assume a dog is welcome on the main sand. The workable options are the free beach at Pian di Poma, which allows dogs and has showers and shaded areas, and a small number of equipped spots such as Bagni Terrazza on Lungomare Italo Calvino, where dogs are welcomed and can reach the water. A dedicated dog beach (Baubeach) at Arma di Taggia, about 10 km east, adds a fenced, fully equipped option. Rules change year to year, so check the current municipal notice and the individual lido before you go, and expect a leash and up-to-date health papers to be required.
A free public beach at the western edge of town where dogs of all sizes are allowed, with showers and shaded areas and access to the water. As a free beach it can get busy in high summer, so arrive early with your own shade and water.

An equipped beach with a bar and restaurant on the Lungomare Italo Calvino where dogs are welcomed and can reach the sea from the adjacent free stretch at the mouth of the San Francesco stream. The bottom is rocky, so a swim harness and care on the stones help.

A dedicated dog beach on the Lungomare di Levante at Arma di Taggia, a short drive or train ride from Sanremo, with a fenced area, showers, shade and dog-waste bins. It is the most reliable option in the area when you want a beach where dogs are the point rather than the exception.
