Saint-Tropez follows the standard French Riviera pattern: dogs are banned from the public bathing beaches in summer by municipal arrêté, typically May 15 to September 30 in Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle, but admitted on leash outside the bathing season. The famous 5 km Pampelonne sweep, technically in neighbouring Ramatuelle, applies the same rule on its public sections; the private beach clubs set their own policies, with a few welcoming dogs at the restaurant terrace and almost none on the lounger section.
